It’s time for Nokia with Windows 7 Phone


CEO Nokia Stephen Elop reiterated that smartphone based Windows 7 Phone will release on fourth quarter in this year. An interview quoted by China site, Elop telling the schedule release between October and December 2011. Release will done with gradually, from one country to others country and not simultaneously. In this interview Elop said that release Windows 7 not same as released with Nokia N9 and MeeGo that conducted simultaneously in several countries. This step is a strategy Elop to market smartphone based Windows 7 Phone.

Elop argue the rumor that starting Microsoft will buying Nokia. This rumor has evolve since Nokia migrate Operation System from Symbian to Windows Phone that produced by Microsoft. Responding this matter, Elop said, Nokia will develop Operation System as other competitors, like Samsung, LG, HTC, and Huawei. Elop also said, Nokia do software development and not completely dependent on Microsoft. In Windows 7 Phone developments, Nokia makes Apollo, that is latest version of Windows Phone Mango, there’s Tango, Windows Phone version for middle to lower market. Tango will help Nokia phones base on demographic spread to compete with Android.

In this interview Elop said, Nokia have plan to re-invest to Symbian in 2015. Beyond discussion with Windows Phone, Elop state that no plans to produce Tablets. But Nokia will considering demand from consumers.
